BEHIND THE EDIT

What would you like to edit about your skin?

Perhaps it’s uneven tone, rough texture, the marks left behind by breakouts, or simply wanting your skin to look more refreshed. This week, we’re taking the Lavish Edit conversation to the surface—with chemical peels.

In our first two issues, we introduced the idea: you identify the goal, and the approach follows. A chemical peel is no different. The starting point isn’t choosing the strongest treatment. It’s understanding your skin.

THE PRE-EDIT: START WITH YOUR SKIN

Before choosing a peel, share your skincare routine, medications, recent treatments and history of sensitivity with your provider. Mention previous reactions, cold sores and upcoming travel or outdoor plans.

Your preparation should be specific to the treatment selected. Ask which products to pause, when to pause them and when they can safely return to your routine. Don’t stop prescribed medication without guidance.

THE EDIT: CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE APPROACH

Chemical peels can help improve selected concerns involving texture, discoloration and certain types of acne. Different peels have different purposes, strengths and recovery needs.

At Lavish, the options include Renew, Retin-A, Acne, Clarity and the signature Straberi Peel, alongside Full Body Straberi. These are choices to discuss—not a ladder you need to climb.

For deeper skin tones, careful selection and a provider experienced with your skin tone are especially important because inappropriate treatment can cause pigment changes.

THE POST-EDIT: GIVE YOUR SKIN TIME

Recovery depends on the peel and your skin. Redness, dryness and flaking may occur; stronger treatments can require more downtime. Follow your individual aftercare plan, avoid picking or scrubbing, and ask when to resume makeup and active skincare.

Protecting your skin from the sun remains essential. “Peel season” is an invitation to plan your treatment—not permission to skip sun protection.
